High in oleic fatty acid, extra virgin olive oil has both moisturising and conditioning properties. Often preferred over pomace olive oil which is solvent extracted from the last pressings of seeds and skins, extra virgin also contains squalene – a natural sterol, which scientists credit with important anti-inflammatory properties.
Yu Rong powder, a formulation by a Taiwanese Chinese herb medicine doctor, helps to smoothen and whiten skin. Traditionally used in ancient China as a beauty powder, it assists in skin renewal and regeneration as well as promotes radiance.
The powdered leaves of the white mulberry herb are commonly used for medicine while its fruit can be eaten cooked or raw. It has been used in treating ailments such as the common cold, muscle and joint pain as well as premature graying of hair due to its anti-oxidant and regenerative properties. It is also known to help in whitening skin and promoting an even complexion.
Traditionally used in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, chamomile is common used to treat skin diseases, inflammation and other disorders. When used in lotions or balms, chamomile may ease itching and speed healing as well as prevent bacterial infection. Chamomile contains volatile oils (including bisabolol, bisabolol oxides A and B, and matricin) as well as flavonoids (particularly a compound called apinegin) and other therapeutic substances.
Coix seed (aka Job’s tears), being a natural anti-inflammatory substance, helps to protect the skin from acne-causing bacteria and sun damage. It is traditionally used as skinfood and is believed to help smooth, refine & tone skin as well as treat dark spots and prevent dry skin. It is rich in essential fatty acids, esters, protein and Vitamins B1, B12 and E.
Rosehip and its byproducts has a long history of use in traditional medicine. It is a rich source of vitamin C, carrying all the benefits of that vitamin and the various flavonoids in rosehips have potent antioxidant action. It also contains anti-inflammatory properties.0 likes
